Noquemanon Trail Network celebrates the season of snow

MARQUETTE — Skiers are already starting to hit the trails, and the Noquemanon Trail Network is gearing up for an annual event to help celebrate the beginning of winter sports fun.

The network’s 10th Annual Snowball benefit is coming up this Friday at the Marquette Regional History Center. The winter celebration is held annually to help raise money for the trails.

“Funds that we raise at this event strictly go to operations of the Noquemanon Trail Network, so that includes our Nordic operations and our single track operations, as well as helping with our events,” said Nicole Dewald, NTN Director of Operations.

The event will feature food, music, and fun, along with a silent auction. Those who have attended in previous years will have something new to look forward to this year.

“What’s wonderful about the Noquemanon Trail Network Snowball is every year, we try to make it different to some extent. Either it’s moving the event to a different location or changing the event up as far as silent auction or food and things like that,” Dewald added. “This year we actually wrapped most of our silent auction items already for under the Christmas tree.”

Silent auction items were donated by several area businesses, and the gift wrap encourages winners to present them as gifts this Christmas. Tickets to the ball are $60 per person or $100 for a couple, and the fun begins at 7:00 p.m.
