Ontonagon is still waiting to see if they can get some good news on jobs.
A large international metal fabrication company may still want to move in.
In late January, the company told village officials they want to open a new facility in either Ontonagon or Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The company also said their board of directors would probably decide by March 1st.
But it took longer than expected to get financial information for the board.
The company said the decision would take about another month, but it hasn’t come yet.
Company representatives have told the village they want to remain anonymous until they decide.
If they choose Ontonagon, they’d move into the village’s old shipyard on River Street soon after.
They expect to have more than 100 employees within 5 years.
