No injuries after report of smoke in a building

KINGSFORD — No one was injured after reports of smoke at a building in Kingsford Wednesday evening.

Kingsford Public Safety officers say they were dispatched to U.P. Special Delivery on East Boulevard for a report of smoke in the building shortly before 9:00 p.m. They located smoke in the rear of the building upon arrival.

Officers were told that Northwoods Manufacturing was currently renting the warehouse space where the smoke originated, and a piece of heavy machinery being worked on was the source of the smoke. The warehouse and the U.P. Special Delivery offices were ventilated, and Public Safety was able to clear the scene before 9:30 p.m.

No injuries were reported, and the building was not damaged.
