NMU’s Tucker earns special teams nod

BAY CITY, Mich. – Northern Michigan University junior wide receiver Marcus Tucker was named GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week after the Wildcats defeated Wayne State 33-30.

Tucker racked up 318 all purpose yards including 204 yards on six kickoff returns. He also had an 84-yard, fourth quarter, kickoff return which set up the game tying field goal for the Wildcats. Tucker was also the top receiver for the Wildcats, hauling in 114 yards through the air. Tucker leads the GLIAC with 585 kickoff return yards and is third averaging 27.9 yards per return.

NMU is back in action Saturday, Oct. 25, when they travel to Ashland for a 1 p.m. kick-off.
