NMU’s Soderman an All-American

RIPTON, Vt. – Junior Erik Soderman, of the Northern Michigan University Nordic ski team, became an All-American for the second time in his career on Thursday (March 7) after a 10th place finish in the men’s 10-kilometer classic race at the NCAA Championship at the Rikert Nordic Center.

Freshman Mary Kate Cirelli was the top Wildcat on the women’s side with a 15th place finish in the 5K classic.

Soderman crossed the line in 26:56. He won the 10K freestyle at last year’s Championship.

Also on the men’s side, sophomore Kyle Bratrud finished 23rd with a time of 27:36.6 and junior George Cartwright skied to a 33rd place (28:16.2) place finish.

Junior Jordyn Ross placed 23rd (16:39.8) and teammate junior Rosie Frankowski finished two places back to round out the top 25 (16:43.7) in the women’s race.
