NMU’s Ludwig earns CCHA award

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Junior defenseman CJ Ludwig, of the Northern Michigan University hockey team, is this week’s Central Collegiate Hockey Association Gladiator Defenseman of the Week after his performance in the series sweep over Ohio State.

Ludwig, a native of Little Elm, Texas, had an assist in Friday’s 4-2 win over the Buckeyes. He scored his fourth goal of the season on Saturday in the 3-2 win. Ludwig also finished +2 on the weekend with three blocked shots.

Ludwig has scored four of his five career goals this season, two of them on the power play, and leads the Wildcats with 36 blocked shots. He also has eight assists and is +4 on the season.

Northern travels to Alaska this weekend for a CCHA series with the Nanooks.
