MARQUETTE, Mich. – Northern Michigan University women’s basketball player Alyssa Colla has been named to the Daktronics, Inc. All-Midwest Region second team in a vote of the region’s sports information directors.

Colla, a junior guard from Muskego, Wis., leads the Wildcats averaging 16.3 points per game and has started in all 29 outings this season for NMU. Earlier this season, Colla became the 23rd player in NMU history to top 1,000 career points and is currently 21st all-time at NMU with 1,058 career points.

Colla was an All-GLIAC First Team selection and was named to the GLIAC All-Defensive Team while earning GLIAC Player of the Week Honors twice during the regular season.

The Wildcats are fresh off winning the GLIAC Tournament Championship and face Quincy in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Tournament at 9:30 p.m. Friday at the O’Reilly Family Events Center in Springfield, Mo.
