NMU’s Berger named to tournament team

MARQUETTE – Northern Michigan junior libero Alex Berger was named to the Keweenaw Classic All-Tournament Team on Monday.

Berger had a great tournament in the back row for the ‘Cats digging up 78 attacks over the course of the three matches. She opened the tournament against Upper Iowa with 24 digs. Then against Bemidji State she had 23 digs before setting her new career at 31 digs in the Wildcats’ finale against Winona State.

Alex is currently tied for the GLIAC lead in digs with 90 on the season, while her 5.62 digs per set is second in the conference.

The Wildcats open up GLIAC play this weekend when they travel to Northwood Friday, Sept. 12 for a 7 p.m. tip-off and then face off against Lake Superior State University Saturday, Sept. 13 at 3 p.m.
