NMU Student Dead After Hitting Deer
A Northern Michigan University student is dead after hitting a deer on his motorcycle last night.
20-year-old Clint Roberts was from Bark River.
The accident happened along D Road near Gladstone at about 9:30 last night.
State Police say he was riding a Suzuki Katana when a deer jumped into his path.
Roberts hit the deer and then lost control of the bike, hitting a fence and then a tree.
He later died of internal injuries at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
The accident is still being investigated, but alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
