NMU soccer falls at Lewis

NMU WILDCATSThe Northern Michigan University soccer team is still looking for its first win of the season after the Wildcats dropped a 1-0 decision on Monday at Lewis. NMU is now 0-3-0 to begin 2013.

The game’s only goal was scored at the 7:14 mark of the first half by Lewis forward Lauren Grady. Brianne Pettas was credited with an assist on the play. The Flyers out shot the Wildcats in the game, 15-7.

Two freshmen spent time as the goalkeeper for NMU. Caroline Glantz player the first half, stopping three shots. Alexandra Simmons took over for Glantz in the second half.

NMU returns home for three games beginning on Thursday, Sept. 12, against the ‘Cats U.P. rival Michigan Tech. Game time between NMU and Michigan Tech is set for 5 p.m.
