MARQUETTE — The Holiday Season is in full swing and communities all over are getting into the spirit. Northern Michigan University is no different.

Last night the university hosted their 28th annual Lighting Up the Holidays celebration. The Peter White Lounge was packed with families and friends getting excited for the upcoming holiday celebrations.

“It’s an opportunity for Northern Michigan University to open up and have all our faculty, staff, families, students, [and] community come together and have a kick off to the holiday season with a bunch of your favorite activities all in one place,” said Marketing Manager Stephanie Raboin, “It’s been a pretty busy buzz out there since the beginning. People are excited to come in and kids are excited to see Santa and get some cookies and take a hay ride.”

Kids could also play games with the NMU Cheerleading Team, have their faces painted and make a fun holiday craft.
