NMU Professor Wins Author Award
A Northern Michigan University English professor is receiving statewide recognition.
The Michigan Center for the Book says John Smolens has been selected for the 2010 Michigan Author Award.
The annual prize honors a Michigan writer for contributions to literature based on an outstanding published body of work.
Smolens’ new book, “The Anarchist” is an historical novel.
His other books include “Cold” and ”The Invisible World”.
Smolens is to get the award in November at the Michigan Library Association’s “Yes We Can!” conference.
