NMU Computer Science Awards
The results are in after a five-week application programming contest among computer science students at Northern Michigan University.
Eight teams of two or more students took software given to them by microprocessor maker Intel and programmed their own apps — from games to business applications.
Three out of eight teams successfully submitted their apps.
Second and third places received cash prizes.
First place received a new Ultrabook laptop from Intel.
NMU computer science professor Jeff Horn says every student from the winning teams has been offered a six-month paid internship with Intel as well.
Ten NMU students are currently interning with Intel.
