Nine arrested in heroin dealing operation

Nine people–including three Upper Peninsula men–are charged in connection with heroin distribution in Menominee and northeast Wisconsin.

According to the United States Department of Justice, United States Attorney James L. Santelle of the Eastern District of Wisconsin filed a criminal complaint leading to the nine arrests.

Menominee residents Michael Peak, 40, Donald Myers, 41, and Eric Ebbole, 42, are charged with conspiracy to deliver heroin.

The men allegedly conspired to fund, purchase, transport, distribute, and sell large amounts of heroin in Menominee, and Brown and Marinette Counties in Wisconsin.

Chicago resident Brian King is charged with distribution of heroin; charging documents say he is allegedly responsible distributing over 500 grams of heroin in the three counties.

The five other defendants, three women and two men, are from Marinette and Green Bay.

Each defendant faces between five and forty years in prison, a maximum fine of $5 million, a $100 special assessment, and between four years to life on supervised release.

The case was a joint investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation with assistance from the Milwaukee and Chicago High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area programs, the Marinette County Sheriff’s Department, the Brown County Sheriff’s Department, the Marinette Police Department, the Menominee County Sheriff’s Department, and the Menominee Police Department.
