Newest honoree added to A. Felch Pendill Wall of Excellence

MARQUETTE — The Marquette Area Public School District added another prominent alumnus to their wall of excellence just a couple hours ago.

Dr. James G. Kublin was inducted into the district’s “A. Felch Pendill Wall of Excellence” at Marquette Senior High School.
An honor not easily achieved.

“Most of our graduates are outstanding in their field of success,” said Pendill Wall Selection Committee Chairman Robert Mercure, “but have given back to the communities they live in and actually in this case, throughout the world.”

Dr. Kublin was humbled and honored for being recognized for his international work and devotion to malaria prevention and creating an HIV vaccine.
He said he feels fortunate to be able to use this opportunity to hope to inspire others.

“One thing that’s very meaningful for me is coming back and talking to the students here at Marquette Senior High School,” said A. Felch Pendill Wall of Excellence Honoree Dr. Jim Kublin, “hearing questions from them and seeing their young enthusiasm for the world in which we live.”

A string quartet with musical selection by Orchestra Director Eric Marta opened the ceremony. To nominate an outstanding MSHS graduate to be considered for the wall of excellence contact the superintendent’s office at 225-4200.
