MARQUETTE COUNTY — The trial date for a man granted a new trial has been pushed back a few months.

Jason Sadowski, 45, was supposed to begin his second trial today in Marquette County Circuit Court.

Sadowski is accused of keeping two women at a karate dojo in Ishpeming against their will back in 2013. He was found guilty the following year one count of solicitation of murder and two counts of torture.

Eventually, Sadowski was sentenced to 40 to 80 years in prison.

Last December, the Michigan Court of Appeals granted Sadowski’s request for a new trial, citing that his confrontation rights were violated.

Sadowski’s new trial date is set for December 5th.
