New MI Record for Gas Prices

Gas prices in Michigan have set a new record.

The statewide average for a gallon of regular gasoline is almost $4.22.

AAA Michigan reports the previous record was $4.21, from July 17th, 2008.

Gas is 6.6 cents higher than yesterday and $1.32 more than last year.

The lowest gas prices in the state are in Traverse City, where gas is averaging just over $4.20 a gallon.

As they often are, the highest gas prices among the areas AAA surveys are in the Marquette area at $4.25.

AAA Michigan surveys 2,800 gas stations in the state every day.
