MARQUETTE — Cybersecurity is at the forefront of anything these days that deals with computers and computer-related technology.

To help address the state’s shortage of cybersecurity professionals, Governor Rick Snyder and several colleges-including Northern Michigan University- are teaming up to form the new Regional Cyber Education Collaboration.

The RCEC will provide students with what officials are calling a ‘robust cybersecurity curriculum’, training them to detect cyber attacks in a real-world setting. NMU does offer a cyber defense program.
