MARQUETTE — Marquette residents could see big changes in the city as soon as May.
At Monday night’s city commission meeting, UP Health System gave a quick presentation on how things are going with the new hospital. They say that they’ve got the paperwork complete for the necessary permits and have started the bidding process for subcontractors and suppliers.
“From our perspective, everything is proceeding according to plan, quite normally. I don’t foresee any issues. But, certainly if there’s something he needs the commission to be aware of, he’ll mention it,” said City Manager Mike Angeli.
The commission also discussed a change in polling places for precinct six. Voters in that area will have to go to the UP Sportsplex instead of the Armory.
