New Home for Ishpeming Twp. Businesses

A pair of western Marquette County businesses that operate out of the same space have a new home.

PC Medic and Martin Sports Apparel recently moved into a new home in Ishpeming Township.

The Greater Ishpeming–Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon–cutting ceremony at the new location this afternoon.

Scott Martin, co-owner of both businesses, says the old home was actually the same size as the new one, but the new building’s 6,000 square feet of floor space is all on one level and they’ll use every square inch of it.

Martin says both businesses are doing very well since the move.

The sports apparel business should especially get some help in the new facility — new avenues of business may open up.

Martin says their brand-new embroidery and apparel production area in back of the sales counter is several times larger than the one in the old building was, and that will allow them to handle larger orders and expand the business.

Besides trying to make the new store a home for local athletic apparel, Martin still has the ability to perform mobile computer repair using a former ambulance.
