New executive director excited for future

ISHPEMING — The Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce has a new executive director.

Danielle LaCavalla has had the position for the past week. She has previously worked for Norwich University which is a private military college in Vermont. While working in Vermont, LaCavalla has had the opportunity to plan more than 60 events, all of which have involved community engagement. Even though she is new to the area, LaCavalla is excited to work with the community and get local businesses involved.

“Their energy, their charisma, their passion for the area,” said GINCC Executive Director Danielle LaCavalla, “and what they said about the culture and the region was what was the most appealing and I’m so excited that I was offered the position.”

The chamber of commerce just finished their Vegas night fundraiser last Saturday. LaCavalla is currently working on new community events.
