20-year-old James Banks has been charged with escape from a felony jail sentence, conspiracy to escape, malicious destruction of a building and being a habitual offender, 3rd offense.

He has a preliminary exam on those new charges a week from tomorrow.

Banks was in jail awaiting sentencing on drug charges when he broke out a week ago Sunday.

The county sheriff’s office and the Niagara, Wisconsin police accuse a Niagara woman of helping him after he did that.

Her next court appearance is this Friday in Marinette.

She’s out of jail until then.
