New Book on Marquette County Hospice Care

A local author profiles an area of medical services that many of us don’t think about until we, or a loved one, need it.

It’s end-of-life care.

Besides writing several previous books, Dixie Franklin is a longtime area freelance journalist.

She’s written for the Mining Journal and the Detroit News, among many others.

Her latest work, “Another Way”, is a touching look at hospice services in Marquette County.

Dixie says she didn’t know anything about hospice services before she started the project, so she made sure to include plenty of interviews with local service providers and hospice stories from families.

She calls them awesome people and she says she hopes she got their stories right.
