Negaunee Man Drowns in Chocolay River
The Negaunee man found dead in the Chocolay River in Harvey over the weekend did not die from foul play.
That’s what the Chocolay Township Police say tonight.
26-year-old Matthew Schneider’s body was found at about 11 yesterday morning near the bayou by West Main Street and US-41.
Police say that according to the preliminary autopsy, he drowned and alcohol was a contributing factor in his death.
Friends of Schneider reported him missing on Saturday.
