UPDATE: Negaunee car accident slows afternoon traffic

UPDATE: 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, 12/17/14

Officers from the Negaunee City Police Department say the drivers involved in the accident at the intersection of US-41 and Teal Lake Avenue shortly before 4 p.m. Monday were 36-year-old Cora Longtine of Little Lake and 35-year-old William Moyle of Ishpeming.

Longtine was traveling eastbound in the Dodge Magnum on US-41 and attempted to make a left turn onto Croix Street. Police say she failed to yield to Moyle’s Pontiac Grand Am, which was traveling westbound on US-41.

Longtine was found at fault for the accident and was cited for failure to yield and driving with a suspended license. No injuries were reported.

NEGAUNEE — A two-car accident slowed down traffic in Negaunee this afternoon.

It happened at the intersection of US-41 and Teal Lake Avenue shortly before 4 p.m.

No official information is available yet from the Negaunee Police, including whether or not anyone was hurt. However, it appears that a blue Dodge Magnum and a purple Pontiac Grand Am hit one another, headlight-to-headlight.

No ambulances were present while our cameras were there. Both vehicles had to be towed away.

The Ishpeming Police assisted at the scene.
