Names released in Marquette Township car accident

The names have been released in a two-car accident that happened in Marquette Township Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened about four o’clock on U.S-41 and slowed up traffic for almost an hour  The Michigan State Police say 26-year-old James Lemmond of Ishpeming failed to yield as he was pulling out of fox motors of Marquette.

Lemmond’s car drove into the path of an eastbound Chevy Blazer driven by 59-year-old Chrstine Mattfolk of Dollar Bay.Both Lemmond and Mattfolk were taken to Marquette General Hospital for treatment of non–life threatening injuries. Lemmond ticketed for failure to yield.

The Marquette Township Fire Department, Michigan State Police and Marquette County Sheriff’s Office and Medi–Ride and Marquette General Ambulances all responded to the incident.
