Names Released in M-553 Accident
The name of a victim involved in a fatal crash on M-553 yesterday has been released. The Marquette County Sheriffs office responded to the crash near glasses curve at 10am Thursday morning.
26 year old Ali Stark and his six month old daughter River Stark both of Gwinn were traveling northbound on M–553 in a Chevy Malibu.
Stark lost control of the vehicle and collided with a Southbound Waste Management Truck. The Glasses Curve area is frequent spot for accidents where speed is often a factor, however police say the road is not particularly more dangerous than any other part of M-553. Ali Stark was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses removed River Stark from the back seat. She’s in stable condition at Marquette General.
56 year old Glen Hiltunen of Ishpeming was driving the Waste Management Truck. He was not hurt. The accident is still under investigation.
