Names Released in Drive-by Shooting

Two Marquette County teenagers have been arrested in connection with the drive by shooting in Marquette over the weekend.

19 year old Phillip Scott Swanson of Ishpeming was arraigned on three felony warrants today. The charges stem from the early morning shooting at this house on Center Street in Marquette.

Swanson is charged with the five year felony of using a short–barreled gun. Swanson also is charged with discharging a weapon in or at a building and discharging a firearm from a vehicle. Both carry a four year prison term and–or a two thousand dollar fine.

17 year old Dylan Shawn Olli of Marquette faces the same four year felonies: discharging a weapon in or at a building and discharging a weapon from a vehicle.

City police say the shooting resulted from an argument between the parties over a girl and a previous drug transaction that left one party unsatisfied.

Olli is lodged at the Marquette County Jail on a $200,000 bond.

Police say Olli was driving a red dodge pickup used during the drive–by shooting.

At the time of the shooting, there were seven people in the suspect vehicle: five males and two females from 15 to 21 years of age.

Dylan Olli and his twin brother, Casey Michael Olli were both arrested for misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Marquette Police stopped the suspect vehicle about an hour after the shooting. Authorities are still investigating the incident.
