Name Released in Fatal Snowmobile Accident
A North Street Michigan woman is dead tonight after a snowmobile accident in Alger County this afternoon.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Negaunee post say it happened at 1:30 pm on Trail 88 in Burt Township near Grand Marais.
50 year old Natalie Hugo was traveling southbound on Trail 88.
She fell from her snowmobile and struck her head on a snowmobile headed the opposite direction on the trail.
Several witnesses attempted CPR until Burt Township EMS arrived at the scene.
However the injuries Hugo suffered were fatal and she was pronounced dead shortly after.
Witnesses say that neither snowmobile rider was driving recklessly.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
