N.M.U. Job Fair: building future relationships

Getting through college is only half the battle in landing a job. The luck of finding gainful employment can boil down being in the right place at the right time.

Students at Northern Michigan University had the chance today to develop relationships with the local, regional and national workforce. More than 50 different companies attended the N.M.U job fair today. Employers had information for students about a wide range of career possibilities.

Students received valuable tips on ways to improve the application process.

Mike Koval from the Madison, Wisconsin Police Department was recruiting potential employees. He recommended that students start building their resumes early and apply for a wide range of positions.

Family Video’s Barb Lynaugh suggested that students really sell themselves to potential employers.  She said companies like hers are expanding and that students should do their research in advance of the application process so they know where the jobs are.

This was the 45th year that N.M.U. hosted the job fair.
