HOUGHTON — Michigan Tech’s Brett Gervais (Lake Linden, Mich.) was today named GLIAC Football Defensive Player of the Week for his role in the Huskies 39-38 overtime victory vs. Tiffin last Saturday (Oct. 31).

Gervais posted a team-high nine tackles with six solos and three assists. He intercepted a pass in the second quarter and returned it 41 yards for a touchdown to give Tech a 20-14 lead at halftime. Gervais also forced a fumble in the third quarter.

The senior defensive back has 45 tackles on the season with two interceptions. For his career, he has 187 tackles and seven interceptions.

Michigan Tech improved to 6-2 on the season (5-0 at home). The Huskies will finish the regular season on the road with games at Ashland this Saturday (Nov. 7) and at Lake Erie the following weekend (Nov. 14).
