MSP Community Troopers

A federal grant will help the Michigan State Police be more effective in fighting crime.

The grant enables posts across the state to assign a community service trooper to focus solely on community outreach.

The officer’s various tasks include attending community meetings on crime prevention, educating the public on emerging trends, and prioritizing ongoing community needs.

21 community troopers have been assigned across the region, including at the posts in Negaunee, Gladstone and Sault Ste. Marie.
