Mqt. Co. Food Co-op adds commission member

The Marquette County Food Co-op Policy and Steering Committee already has representatives from Marquette area townships and the county.  Now, the committee gaining a member from the City of Marquette.

The Marquette City Commission voted Commissioner Jason Schneider  to the committee.  One city employee will also be named an alternate.

The Policy and Steering Committee do not make new policies, but instead look at existing policies.  They keep Marquette informed about local food policies and information.

Bringing a member of the City Commission to the committee allows the city to strengthen their relationship with the Marquette County Food Co-op.

At the meeting, Marquette Mayor Johnny DePetro declared the last week in February “Marquette Community Entrepreneurs Week”.  The week will allow Marquette entrepreneurs to showcase their abilities that make Marquette a better place to live.
