Mqt. Co. Board approves new dispatcher software
911 dispatchers at Marquette County Central Dispatch will soon be able to use a new software to help assist during calls.
The Marquette County Board of Commissioners gave approval for the purchase of a new 911 adviser software at their meeting Tuesday night.
Central Dispatch currently has a system that was developed in-house. With the new system, all questions that dispatchers use when someone calls in would be on the computer screen, and would not have to search for questions.
The software will have a program that allows dispatchers to be trained at Central Dispatch, instead of being sent to training centers downstate or in Wisconsin. Gary Johnson, Manager of Marquette County Central Dispatch, said the new software will be more effective and cost-efficient.
Other items on the agenda for the board was to keep the Soil Conservation District in the area for another year. They advised giving tools to the district to use to enforce rules. The board voted to not give the Soil Conservation District an extra $27,000 in their budget.
The board also extended the Sawyer International Airport security contract with the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department.
