Motorcycle Group donates $5,000 to veterans group

MARQUETTE — An Upper Peninsula motorcycle veterans organization donated more than just their time to the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans Saturday.

The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Michigan Chapter 35-1 donated $5,000 to the veterans home. The money will all be deposited into the home’s Activity Fund.

“A lot of our older veterans paid the way for us,” said AJ Bower, the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Chapter Secretary. “We don’t want them to be forgotten. They’re special in our hearts, especially being a veteran myself. They made our country the way it is today.”

“The Activity Fund covers any kind of entertainment we do,” said Ken Arsenau, the Activity Director for the D.J. Jacobetti Home For Veterans. “Any music or entertainment we bring in, any admissions that we have to cover if we go to a museum or sporting event. It’s a good time fund.”
