Morning freezing rain

Spring is officially here, according to the calendar, but Mother Nature can have a strange way of showing it in the U.P.

Many people in the central U.P. woke up this morning to frozen windshields and a tricky commute.

The freezing rain was isolated to Marquette and Alger Counties.

The temperatures warmed up by the afternoon, but the problem may be around for a while.

Persistent winds from the north have helped to push the freezing drizzle off of Lake Superior.

It’s always a problem in the late winter, when the temperatures have warmed up to near the freezing mark but haven’t climbed past it yet.
