SKANDIA TOWNSHIP/BREITUNG TOWNSHIP — Construction season rolls on in the Upper Peninsula, and drivers should take note of a couple of roads in the Central U.P. that will be closed for repairs in the coming days.

The Marquette County Road Commission will be closing County Road 541, also known as North Carlshend Road, in Skandia Township starting at 7:00 a.m. Thursday. The road will be closed almost half a mile from US-41 for a culvert replacement. Officials expect it to reopen by 3:00 p.m.

In Dickinson County, a portion of Breitung Avenue will be closed starting Tuesday, September 29th, for reconstruction of the railroad track which crosses it. The track is located between Woodbine Street and Fisher Road in Breitung Township. Officials expect to have the work completed Wednesday.
