Mock Accident Teaches Real Lesson

Freshmen at Marquette Senior High School saw an emergency room treatment of a teenager injured in a drunk or distracted driving incident.

It’s part of the pre–prom week of special ‘what not to do’ lessons.

Today, students had a field trip to the ER at Marquette General.

They were able to see what happens after a serious accident.

And they saw a familiar face a classmate, playing the part of a victim.

In this scenario, the victim had been involved in a drunk driving accident.

The students saw ‘up close and personal’ view of what happens in the ER.

Although this was just a mock situation, it helps to drive the lesson home.

This was the last event in a week long program devoted to educating the students on distracted and impaired driving.
