Mobile Meth Lab in Manistique Township

Two people are in jail after a traffic stop led to the discovery of another mobile meth lab.

State Police from the Manistique Post say it happened on Tannery road in Manistique Township.

At about 3:15 Sunday morning, troopers tried to pull a vehicle over for a traffic violation.

After a brief chase, officers eventually made the stop, and they say they found meth–making materials in the vehicle.

A 33–year–old woman from Gladstone and a 40–year–old man from downstate Plainwell were in the vehicle.

Police arrested the woman for fleeing and eluding, providing false information to a police officer and operating a meth lab.

Officers arrested the man for resisting and obstructing police and operating a meth lab.

The two are both being held in the Schoolcraft County Jail.

Because District Court was closed today for the Columbus Day holiday, there’s no word yet on when the suspects’ arraignments will be.
