Police in the Keweenaw are combing the area, searching for a missing woman.

She is 55–year–old Valerie Sue Palmer of Houghton.

The Coast Guard deployed a boat and called in a helicopter from traverse city.

They’re helping Houghton Police, the Houghton County Sheriff’s Department and Superior Search and Rescue look for Palmer.

She was last seen at about 7 Saturday night on Townsend drive in Houghton, near the College Avenue Wells Fargo bank.

Some of Palmer’s belongings were found Sunday morning on a boat in Torch Bay.

Police say she has what they are calling ’emotional setbacks’.

Palmer is 5’8″ and weighs about 145 pounds.

She has white, shoulder–length hair with hazel eyes, and she also wears glasses.

Palmer was last seen wearing aqua–colored capri pants, a white and yellow tank top and a broad–rimmed visor.
