UPDATE: Missing woman identified, suspect arrested

UPDATE — 4:20 p.m. September 10, 2015 (EST)

The name of the man arrested in connection with Jolene Eichhorn’s death has been released.

Gregory Ihander, 48, of Menominee was arrested and arraigned in Menominee County District Court. He faces an open murder charge. Bond was set at $1,000,000.

Ihander will have a probable cause hearing on September 24th.


UPDATE — 1:10 p.m. September 10, 2015 (EST)

Police have arrested a man in connection with the death of a missing Menominee County woman.

The Michigan State Police Gladstone Post identified the missing woman as 43-year-old Jolene Eichhorn. An MSP Trooper discovered her parked vehicle at approximately 6:30 am. Wednesday, near the Cedar River State Harbor. When police later searched the vehicle, they found Eichhorn’s body in the trunk of her car.

During their investigation, police arrested a 48-year-old man in connection to Eichhorn’s death. His name is not being released until after he’s arraigned in Menominee District Court.

An autopsy is currently underway at U.P. Health System – Marquette to determine Eichhorn’s cause of death.


GLADSTONE — A 43-year-old woman who was reported missing was found dead today.

The woman was found by a Michigan State Police Trooper at the Cedar River State Harbor, in Cedarville Township. Foul play is suspected. MSP is continuing the investigation of the death and an autopsy is scheduled for Thursday. The name of the deceased will be released after next of kin is notified.
