Missing man found dead
MARQUETTE — A missing man was found dead early this morning.
The body of 33-year-old Joseph Waisanen was discovered around 1:20 a.m. in Powell Township, seven miles north of the intersection of Northwestern Road and AAA Road.
Michigan State Police troopers from both the Negaunee and Calumet posts were notified after a camper found the man dead.
Waisanen’s body was found just five miles away from where his truck was found earlier this month.
A cause of death has not yet been determined but no foul play is expected at this time. A positive identification will be confirmed by a medical examiner at U.P. Health System – Marquette.
