UPDATE: Missing Hurley man found dead in Ironwood

Update: 5:09 p.m.

The Hurley Police Department has confirmed the body of the man found in Ironwood Sunday is 74-year-old Duane Jussila.

His death and disappearance are still under investigation, pending autopsy results.

A missing Hurley man was found dead in Ironwood Sunday.

Ironwood Public Safety officers say the ongoing investigation by the Hurley Police Department for a missing Hurley man led to the discovery of the missing vehicle and subject. The vehicle was found submerged in about 10 feet of water in caves near Alfred Wright Boulevard.

Ironwood Public Safety, the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Department and the Michigan State Police helped identify the vehicle. Officers removed the vehicle from the water.

The man’s name has not been released pending notification of his family. The incident remains under investigation. Ironwood Public Safety says they expect to have more information available either later today or sometime on Tuesday.
