Miners aiming for the Breslin Center

They have won three consecutive District and Regional titles, but its the quarterfinals that has been the Achilles heel of the Negaunee Boys Basketball team the last two seasons.

Negaunee is set to face Maple City Glen Lake in the Quarterfinals tomorrow night at Gaylord High School.

The Lakers are as host as any team in the state right now. They defeated both Traverse City St. Francis and Shelby during their playoff run.

But the Miners plan on slowing down Glen Lake by doing the same thing they have all season long, which is play solid defense.

Negaunee has held its opponents to a stingy 36 points per game during the postseason. The Miners know that playing solid defense tomorrow night gives them a chance to get back to the Breslin Center for the first time in five years.

Game time Tuesday at Gaylord H.S. is set for 7pm. If the Miners are able to beat the Lakers, they will face either Laingsburg or Beaverton in the semifinals Thursday at 2:50pm.
