HOUGHTON, Mich. — Michigan Tech athletics today announced its ticket information for the 2012-13 athletic season.

Renewals for last year’s season ticket holders are currently underway with packages for new season ticket holders available Aug. 6.

Season tickets for Michigan Tech hockey cost $279 each and include all 17 regular season home dates plus three playoff games. Youth season hockey tickets are $168 each. Michigan Tech students, which can get free single-game tickets through the Experience Tech Fee, can guarantee their seats for the entire season for $175.

New for 2012-13 is a policy regarding general admission/standing room tickets at hockey games. General admission tickets will not be sold for any game until the reserved tickets are sold out. The new policy is in line with standard practice at many other NCAA Division I hockey programs.

Prices for individual game reserved tickets for hockey have been reduced from $17 to $15 for non-premium games. The $20 price for premium games remains the same from a year ago.

Season tickets for other sports will follow the same schedule as hockey, with renewals open now and packages for new season ticket holders available Aug. 6.

Basketball season tickets cost $150 each and are good for all men’s and women’s home games. There are 13 regular season home dates covering 25 games including 11 GLIAC doubleheaders on the 2012-13 schedule.

The best value in football season tickets is the VIP Four Pack, which comes with four tickets to every home game, free parking and free food and drink at the Library Restaurant and Brew Pub Tailgate party. Cost of a VIP Four Pack is $349. Reserved season tickets for football are $50 per ticket.

Volleyball season tickets are $90 apiece for a reserved seat at Tech’s nine home matches in 2012.

Admission to Michigan Tech soccer will be free for all in 2012.

As always, the purchase of season tickets offers significant savings over the purchase of single-game tickets.

Single-game tickets will not be available until Aug. 20.
