STATEWIDE PROPOSALS QUALIFIED TO APPEAR ON NOVEMBER 6, 2012 GENERAL ELECTION BALLOT

A. STAND UP FOR DEMOCRACY: Referendum petition.
Purpose: Petition seeks to invoke the right of referendum for the emergency financial manager law, 2011 PA 4.  Status: Petition filed February 29, 2012. Certified to the November 6, 2012 general election ballot on August 8, 2012. Ballot language approved on August 27, 2012. Assigned proposal number 12-1 on September 7, 2012.
B. PROTECT OUR JOBS: Initiative petition approved as to form March 19, 2012.
Purpose: Proposed constitutional amendment to create a new right to collective bargaining.  Status: Petition filed June 13, 2012, 2:20 p.m. Certified to the November 6, 2012 general election ballot on August 27, 2012. Ballot language approved on September 7, 2012. Assigned proposal number 12-2 on September 7, 2012.

C. MICHIGAN ENERGY, MICHIGAN JOBS: Initiative petition approved as to form January 20, 2012. Purpose: Proposed constitutional amendment to require utilities to obtain at least 25% of their electricity from clean renewable energy sources.
Status: Petition filed July 6, 2012, 10:38 a.m. Certified to the November 6, 2012 general election ballot on August 15, 2012. Ballot language approved on August 27, 2012. Assigned proposal number 12-3 on September 7, 2012.

D. CITIZENS FOR AFFORDABLE QUALITY HOME CARE: Initiative petition approved as to form March 19, 2012.  Purpose: Proposed constitutional amendment to establish the Michigan quality Home Council, provide certain information to consumers, require training of providers, require training of providers, and provide limited collective bargaining rights.   Status: Petition filed July 9, 2012, 9:34 a.m. Certified to the November 6, 2012 general election ballot on August 15, 2012. E.  MICHIGAN ALLIANCE FOR PROSPERITY: Initiative Petition approved as to form April 26, 2012.  Purpose: Proposed constitutional amendment to prohibit the imposition of new or additional taxes or expansion of the base of taxation by the State of Michigan unless approved by a 2/3 majority of members in each chamber of the legislature or by a statewide vote of the people.  Status: Petition filed July 9, 2012, 3:08 p.m. Certified to the November 6, 2012 general election ballot on September 7, 2012.
