Michigan Tech Tuition Going Up

Michigan Tech’s Board of Control is raising tuition by nearly 7%.

The board voted today to increase tuition and mandatory fees from just above $13,000 for this past school year to just under $14,000 for next year.

Governor Rick Snyder has said he wants to cut state spending on the Public 15 universities by 22%.

But he says he’ll change that to 15% for each school that limits tuition hikes to 7% or less.

Michigan tech’s new budget is based on that expected 15% decline in state appropriations.
