Michigan Tech runner will compete in NCAA Championships

A Michigan Tech runner will go to the NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships next week.

Sophomore Jani Lane will compete in the 1500-meter run. Lane ran the fifth-best 1500 time in Division II track this year, a school-record time of 3:46.53. He holds three of the top four times in Michigan Tech history in that event.

Lane was named All-Midwest Region in the 1500 by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The championships are May 22nd through the 24th at Grand Valley State. Portions of the championships will be streamed live online at NCAA.com each day. Lane will be one of 20 runners competing in the men’s 1500.
