Michigan State Police investigating car vs. train accident involving a minor

Michigan State Police are investigating a railroad crossing accident involving a car and a train that took place Wednesday in Quinnesec.

Troopers from the Iron Mountain Post say it happened at 2:15 p.m. on Lake Street. The driver involved in the accident was traveling north on Lake Street when they saw the train approaching at the last second. The driver was unable to stop before entering the railroad crossing and colliding with the train. The driver and three other passengers were not injured. The driver was cited for violating the basic speed law. The name of the driver is not being released due to the fact that they are a minor.
