A Michigamme man is in jail tonight, on a variety of charges related to a meth lab. 29-year old Mathew David Querfeld was arrested Friday night by Ishpeming City police for driving under the influence of drugs.
Police found several meth lab components in his car and what appeared to be methamphetamine. Police say the plate on the vehicle had been stolen or forged.
Querfeld was arraigned today on three felony charges. Operating or maintaining a meth lab carries up to 20 years. Possession of meth is a ten year charge and forgery of a license plate has a five year penalty.
Querfeld also was charged with the one year misdemeanor of operating while intoxicated, second offense. He is lodged in the Marquette County Jail on a bond of $47, 50. He is set for a preliminary hearing in mid-September.
